Welcome !

In Scouting, a boy is encouraged to educate himself instead of being instructed. ~ Robert Baden-Powell

Boy Scout Troop 130 is a committed group of Scouts and Scouters, boy-led and organized to maximize the scouting experience with a solid, well-rounded program of outdoor adventures, Scouting advancement, and community service. The unit was formed in January 1958 and has been going strong for over 50 years. We've produced over 100 Eagle Scouts, with many more travling the Scouting Trail.

Troop 130 is an active troop, with many fun activities happening every month. From camping in the Rockies to hanging U.S. flags on national holidays, from canoeing the Colorado River to helping in our neighborhood food bank, from hiking Philmont to participating in Easter Sunrise at Red Rocks - our troop stays active in the scouting program and in our community.

Year 'round, our troop is always on the go! Want to join in on the fun? Contact Us for more information! You can find a copy of our Activities Calendar here.

Come Help Run the Fishing Station at Cub Scout Twilight Camp this year

Posted on Jun 6 2014 - 12:13pm

The youth leadership of Troop 130 has opted to help the Gateway District Twilight Camp run this fishing station. This will run June 24th, 25th, and 26th, from 3:00 PM to 8:00PM. Specific station time may vary; however camp will be in sessions during that time. We will need 6-8 youth to run the station for Tuesday, Wednesday, and/or Thursday night. We will be teaching how to tie fishing knots, helping the scouts catch fish, unhooking the fish, and being awesome examples of what a Boy Scout can be! I know you all have the last item down, and if you're unsure about any of the other items, you will be trained.

Posted on May 1 2014 - 10:09am
Do you like money? Sure, we all do! Whether it's a weekend camp-out, or a week-long summer camp, or a high-adventure trip, having the funds to cover costs opens the door to more Scouting fun. Troop 130 provides opportunities for Scouts and families to pitch in a bit of time and get back money for their Scout Accounts. Our next fundraiser is coming up this Sunday, May 4: the  'Great Machine' Car Show Concession Stand! We know that schedules get crazy, with sports, homework, and family activities, but even pitching in an hour to help makes all the difference. Plus, you can check out the cool cars! Details below:
